Skype is joining Microsoft’s Powerpoint in breaking communication boundaries by also including real-time AI captions and subtitles in its video calls. The release is right on time for the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebration.
There’s no doubt that the new features will be extremely advantageous for people with hearing disabilities. With 20 supported languages and dialects arriving soon, Skype video calls would be more enjoyable. Furthermore, it would also serve as a tool in making communication between different languages more seamless. Making friends with people from across the globe would be much easier. All these will be possible with just a simple toggle in your Settings.
This commendable update will give us real-time captioning that will auto-scroll during one-on-one calls between friends, families, or to any number, and group calls. In time, more customization options would be able to Skype users.
