To show how serious Skullcandy is with the Philippine market, top executives showed up in a recent launch party held by the headphone brand that probably started the headphones as fashion accessories in the local music scene.

Skullcandy has been around in the country for 5 years and has gained a massive fan base from the action sports market, down to the broad music crowd. The company sees us as a huge growing market that’s why they planned to include us on their expansion plans.

Skullcandy’s Business Development Manager, Kris Altenburger, was present at the launch and he revealed to us that Skullcandy will be more than just a fashion statement with their upcoming products. He explained that the current lineup are just redesigned OEMs but for the upcoming Skullcandy 2.0s, they brought in designers and engineers to produce headphones that are distinctly Skullcandies. So expect some serious sound improvements when we see the 2.0s.

Right now, it’s widely available in 59 stores nationwide.

Skullcandy’s line of products involves earphones and earbuds, on-ear headphones, and over-ear headphones. Bursting with life and color, these products are not here to just influence style, as their functions are pretty serious too.

Some headphones come with built-in microphones that can be used with multimedia phones, or MP3 players. Similar to the headphones, earphones can be customized for that perfect fit, as some have interchangeable buds. They also offer optimum sound, from controllable subwoofers, to noise-reduction headphones, to iPod controls.

Price range of products go for as low as P995 to P3500 for the earphones and up to P16,500 for the headphones which would be the DJ Mix Master.
