The Sharp Aquos R2 Compact is now officially the world’s first smartphone with two notches. Lately, we’ve seen smartphone companies launching notch displays one after another. Now Sharp has taken the notch on the next level, offering two notches instead of one with Aquos R2 Compact.
The device’s 8.0MP selfie camera is located at the top middle notch on the screen, where it’s usually at. The second notch at the bottom basically houses the home button with an embedded fingerprint sensor that’s gesture customizable. The R2 Compact has a 5.2” Full HD+ High-Speed IGZO LCD Display with Dolby Vision Support. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It also supports up to 512GB of external storage. The device offers a 2,500mAh battery, a face unlock feature, and resistance to water and dust.
The Sharp Aquos R2 Compact is expected to be available to the world in early 2019. What do you think of its design? Sound off in the comments below!
