According to reports, Samsung will lose over $1 billion after the Galaxy Note 7 has long been in the market. If rumors are to be believed, then the best way Samsung can save themselves is by releasing a new phone in the near future. Normally, the Samsung Galaxy S8 would launch around the Spring of 2017, but analysts predict otherwise.
The usual Galaxy S announcement appears at MWC before the end of February, with a launch shortly after. Some analysts say that Samsung will expedite the launch process and aim for early 2017. Of course, while it’s not being overtly stated, it’s obvious that this is a good way for Samsung to save face. The current codenames for the S8 devices are Dream and Dream2.
For now, Samsung fans can simply wait for the Note 7 to return to the market. Or, if they’re more optimistic, see if the Samsung Galaxy S8 will arrive sooner than expected.
