Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus Philippines launch
Samsung announced last Sunday that its next big flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S8, launches on March 29 at an event simply titled ‘Samsung Unpacked’.
The monumental tweet from Samsung
This monumental announcement came after the launch of the Galaxy Tab S3 and the Galaxy book two-in-one device. In terms of specs, rumors speculate prices going as high as around EUR 849 (about PHP 45,187).
One of the major features of the new Samsung Galaxy S8 smarphone is the ‘Beast’ mode. Samsung revealed this via a trademark application, and this mode might provide leverage greater processing power, graphical ability and increased memory of the handset. This boost could prove literal in terms of Samsung’s prospective sales, in light of the failed Note 7. In addition, the Korean company might go with Apple’s strategy of having an S or Plus variant. If rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy S8 will sport a five-inch display, while the Galaxy S8 Plus will be the brand’s first 6-incher.
Another major feature, Samsung Bixby (male) and Kestra (female), might also make it to the Galaxy S8. Of course, we don’t know if Bixby and Kestra will be the final names. At least, expect these two to be Samsung’s AI assistants.
Rumors also point to 8GB RAM, a UFS 2.1 flash storage chip, and a dual-camera setup. The Samsung Galaxy S8 might also rely on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, or an Exynos 8895, running Android 7.0 Nougat.
