It seems that Samsung cannot catch a break, especially after the original Note 7 battery debacle. This time, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 faces controversy due to reports of units no longer charging after the battery hits zero percent.
Although not yet widespread, it does seem alarming that a good handful of users experienced this strange issue. In fact, they made this problem known via the Samsung Community Forums. Additionally, one complaint even included a Youtube video that showed the issue in full. Specifically, it seems to occur when the battery if completely empty. After this happens, the phone will no longer charge, nor will it power on. This occurs regardless of how long it’s left attached to the charger.
While no official answer to this particular issue, it appears that Samsung will accept returns depending on the case. Plus, they will offer some customers a refurbished device, or a brand-new unit. Overall, though, Samsung needs to isolate and solve this case before things get worse.
