The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked brought so many awesome announcements from the Korean tech company. First is the Samsung Galaxy S10 Series, which includes the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e. The brand also brought several fresh accessories to go with its 10th-generation Galaxy S phones. But that’s not all. Samsung also wowed the crowd in San Francisco–as well as those streaming live all over the world–with the introduction of the Galaxy Fold.
The first device to launch in the foldable phone segment, the Samsung Galaxy Fold features a Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex Display. This 7.3-inch internal screen folds into a compact device with a cover display, allowing the device to transform from a phone to a tablet and vice versa.

To make this possible, Samsung used a new polymer layer and created a display that is thinner than typical smartphone screens. A hinging mechanism–housed in a hidden enclosure and with multiple interlocking gears–allows the Galaxy Fold to open smoothly and close flat.
Samsung has also built a unique UX just for the Galaxy Fold. Features like the Multi-Active Window lets you open up to three active apps on the main display. Meanwhile, the App Continuity feature makes sure that moving in between the two displays is seamless. Bixby is also present with new functionalities like Bixby Routines; Samsung Knox is available for data security.
Under its hood, the Samsung Galaxy Fold houses a high-powered, next-gen AP chipset and 12GB of RAM. This device pairs with the Samsung DeX if you want PC-level productivity. The foldable phone also offers six cameras to play with–a triple camera setup at the back, dual cameras on the inside, and one shooter on the cover display.
In addition, the Galaxy Fold comes equipped with a side fingerprint scanner, AKG speakers, and two batteries. This phone comes with Wireless PowerShare feature, meaning it can charge itself and a second device at the same time.
