Samsung just rolled out a new processor called the Exynos 9820 which is an evolution of the Exynos 9810. This new chipset comes with a 2GBps LTE modem, a tri-cluster CPU and an improved NPU (Neural Processing Unit). This means that the new Exynos is guaranteed to be faster, smarter and a better fit for AI enhancements.
The Exynos 9820 will be accompanied by a Mali-G76 GPU which will boost its performance by up to 40%, improve power efficiency, and prolong VR and AR use in apps and games. As for its NPU, it claims to make AI processes up to 7 times faster: this could mean better AI scene recognition and autofocus for cameras.
According to Samsung, the new Exynos chipset is up for mass production by the end of 2018, and will likely be ready by the time the Samsung Galaxy S10 is launched.
