Recently, Robinsons Supermarket turned to JDA Software Group, Inc. to help them improve their database management. JDA Software is the leading provider of seamless supply chain planning and execution solutions. From retailers to wholesalers, they have helped a great deal of companies. The company went to JDA to help automate their relevant operational processes. Robinsons Supermarket is the second largest multi-channel retailer in the country. A subsidiary of Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc (RRHI) it was founded in 1980. The Robinsons Supermarket and JDA working relationship has been a longstanding one at 20 years, and recent improvements look to improve the retailers performance.
Noting that the supermarket needs to has to have products that meets daily customer needs, President and COO, Robina Gokongwei-Pe had this to say:

Expanding the Reach
Expansions to different regions has increased their volume of transactions, vendors, and the like. This is also thanks in part to their strong organic growth. They have also gone into three sub-formats under the tradenames of Robinsons. One is Easymart (minimart), then Robinsons Selections (premium supermarket), and Jaynith’s (discount supermarket). This required an ecosystem of solutions that could proactively take care of the constantly changing demands of the business. Creating customized and engaging promos for shoppers also required an upgrade. This is to address the changing needs in price, promotions management, analytics, and management.
Improvement all Around
Operating with integrated solutions from stores, Robinsons handles their warehouse management and the like from a central office. There JDA Merchandise Management System serves as its core transactional and operational system. On the other hand, JDA Space Planning is used to help stores properly plan how to display items on shelves.
Overall, Robinsons can now order larger amounts, attach unlimited attributes to stores, and assign longer reference series to transactions. Thus, catering to growing customer needs, allowing deeper data analysis, and avoiding a constant purge of records respectively. JDA also the improved Robinsons backend data processing and transaction management. This allows the company to focus on its customers. Visual Plans through JDA Space Planning makes display guidelines easier to understand. It also improved plans and strategies compliance in stores.
