Design & Construction
Unlike its predecessors, the Note 7 arrives with a premium glass body, which Redmi claims to be “rock solid and diamond-like”. The handset comes fitted with 2.5D Corning Gorilla 5 glass panels on its front and rear. For protection, the device’s four corners and the edge has been further strengthened.
Redmi also made the Note 7 dustproof and water-resistant. The buttons and ports of this phone have been treated to protect it from water damage. This is also the first Redmi smartphone to come in gradient colors (blue and red), apart from the solid black variant. Additional features are the USB-C port, 3.5mm jack, and fingerprint sensor at the back.
Display
This Redmi smartphone touts a 6.3-inch full HD+ screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 2340 x 1080 pixel resolution. The display features up to 450nits brightness, 1,500:1 contrast ratio, sun legibility, and eye protection mode. Its bezels are reduced to 1.95mm, and it sports a waterdrop notch at the top of the screen.
Camera
One of the highlights of this phone si its massive 48-megapixel (with f/1.8 aperture) + 5-megapixel AI dual rear camera setup. The primary sensor is a Samsung ISOCELL GM1 48MP Ultra Clear sensor. Taking care of your selfies is the 13-megapixel snapper.
Performance & Battery
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 7 has the Snapdragon 660 chipset, up to 6GB RAM options, and 32/64GB on-board storage configurations. A microSD card slot allows for further expansion of the internal storage. The Snapdragon 660 chipset posted a score of 144, 599 on AnTuTu, beating the reported benchmarks of other smartphones in its category according to Redmi.
Additionally, the Redmi Note 7 runs the latest MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. It comes packing with a 4,000mAh battery as well, with support for Quick Charge 4.0.

Pricing for the Note 7 is CNY99 (around P7,600) for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage configuration; CNY1,199 (around P9,200) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage model; and CNY1,399 (around P10,700) for the top-of-the-line 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant.
The handset will come with a free protective cover and 18 months warranty. Plus, Redmi will also sell trendy covers (CNY24, around P180, each) with random holes on it for heat dissipation.
