Epson just received a Red Dot Award (a prestigious award in the world of design) in the Product Design category for the Moverio BT-3oo smart glasses.
Red Dot Award Winning Movierio BT-300 Smart Glasses
These innovative smart glasses are designed with silicon organic light emitting diodes (OLED) display. With its OLED displays, the Moverio BT-300 is able to deliver good brightness, contrast, resolution, and image quality. However, there is more to this device than just a single feature. Designed to be compact and lightweight the BT-300 does not sacrifice performance.
The design was made so that images are rendered with realistic colors and a limited frame around the display assures minimal distractions. This means that users are able to experience images that seamlessly integrates to a users field of view. With this, users are treated to a more realistic augmented reality (AR) experience.
About the recognition of the MovieRio BT-300, the design department general manager of Epson’s Visual Products Operations Division Hiroaki Sakai had to say a few words.
“We always want our product designs to exceed customer expectations, but the Moverio BT-300 is more streamlined than our previous model. I think the judges recognized that the design achieves comfort and looks natural. We want to continue to make strides toward even better designs in the future,” he said.
Speaking of judges, the Red Dot Design award was founded in Germany and is one of the most prestigious awards in the field of design. The MovieRio BT-300 was able to receive this honor by impressing a number of judges. Not only that but it means the device satisfied in a number of criteria.
