The Realme C1 might be the new kid in town, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t hold its end against other entry-level smartphones. Today we are pitting the C1 against the Vivo Y91 in yet another specs showdown to see which one is the real king.
Design & Construction
Both encased in plastic exteriors, the C1 and the Y91 are lightweight, sleek, and compact. The Y91 only gets a point because of its much more stylish mineral shine gradient, while the C1 is a bit minimalist in design. Both carry notched displays and have additional security features. The Y91 has a face unlock and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, while the C1 only has face unlock.
The Y91 is available in two color variants: Starry Black and Ocean Blue, while the C1 also comes in a plain black and blue color variants.
Display
The C1’s 6.2-inch notched display has a 720 x 1520 px screen resolution. Meanwhile, the Y91 one-ups the C1 a bit with its smaller waterdrop notch which maximizes the display area to 6.22 inches. But in terms of the screen resolution, it’s the same as the C1.
Camera
The C1 has a 13MP+2MP dual rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Judging by just by specs alone, it seems that Vivo yet again won the round by a slim margin as the Y91 is equipped with the same rear camera setup but a higher front camera at 8MP.
Performance
This is where the C1 shines: even at its price point, the C1 is powered by a higher processor. It sports a Snapdragon 450 chipset paired with an Adreno 506 GPU. The Y91, on the other hand, has a Snapdragon 439 processor and Adreno 505 GPU. It’s still a tough match because even though the C1 has a better CPU, it has a lower RAM and internal storage.
The Y91 remains toe-to-toe with the C1, donning a 3GB RAM and 32GB worth of internal storage compared to the C1’s 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Both phones run on an Android 8.1 OS and are compatible with 4G LTE networks. Finally, the C1 wins over the Y91 in terms of longevity, as its 4,230mAh battery capacity definitely lasts longer than the Y91’s 4,030mAh.
