Xiaomi’s sub-brand is leaving gamers rejoicing with the Pocophone F1, offering flagship quality at an affordable price. Today we’re gonna touch up on the F1’s key highlights, let’s get started!
Updated: Pocophone F1 Review
Design & Construction
The F1’s exterior is pretty simplistic and unassuming. Its plastic back panel helps keep the weight in check as it’s already at 180g, which users might find pretty hefty. The F1 is currently available in Graphite Black, Steel Blue Rosso Red, and a special Armored Edition with Kevlar.
The F1 has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and a dual rear camera with a LED flash. At the bottom is a USB Type-C port for charging sandwiched between two speakers. Unlike most phones with a Type-C port, the F1 has a separate 3.5mm jack on top for earphone. On the right are the power and volume control buttons while on the left is the sim card tray.
It also sports a wide notch that houses the 20MP selfie camera, speaker and a sensor for face the unlock feature.
Display & Multimedia
Its 6.18-inch IPS LCD display can get pretty bright and straining when you’ve been using the phone for too long while in a dimly-lit area or in the dark. But nevertheless, the screen produces vibrant colors and sharp images. The speakers are of good quality even with the volume turned all the way up.
Camera
The Pocophone F1 has an amazing 12MP+5MP rear shooter that can capture detailed images both in outdoor and indoor lighting, while the 20MP front camera is great for taking selfies. The portrait mode allows users to take photos with a stunning bokeh effect that helps emphasize subjects in the foreground. There’s also an option to turn the AI enhancements on or off when snapping pictures.
Performance
Powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset with an Adreno 630 GPU, the F1 possesses the same processor as that of many high-end phones in the market such as the ASUS ROG Phone. Gaming on the F1 is unbelievably fast: there are no lags, and even with multiple games running in the background, heavy games are still able to load assets well. It also performs well with online games, making it a great choice for gaming and multitasking. The F1 comes in two RAM variants: 6GB and 8GB.
This powerful device has a non-removable 4,000mAh battery with support for fast charging, helping you stay connected. You can play for hours on end and still have enough charge left for browsing the internet or watching videos. Depending upon use, the F1 can last a day and a half.
In conclusion, the Pocophone F1 is probably one of the best phones you can get in the market right now: it offers high-end specs for a midrange price. There’s no doubt about the quality and performance it can deliver.
