Heavy Internet users at home in need of 2x faster connectivity can rely on PLDT’s new Cat6 device.
Soon to launch in the Philippine market is PLDT Home’s new and improved Cat6 modem priced at P1,995. Compared to the Cat4 device, users are able to enjoy 2x faster speeds via the Cat6 modem since it’s powered by SMART LTE-A technology utilizing 4G carrier aggregation via 5GHz-capable devices. It also offers 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz dual-band Wifi letting up to 5 users connect and enjoy faster Internet speed.
Set-up is a breeze as the Cat6 is a plug and play device; no need for hefty download and installation. Its 2 LAN ports can connect two devices directly, and the modem also comes with a high-gain external antenna for a more efficient, reliable data transmission.
Upon activation, the Cat6 comes with a free 10GB data valid for 7 days. Topping it up via prepaid is easy via FamLoad packages including the FamLoad 199 with 24 GB, FamLoad 599 with 80 GB, FamLoad 999 with 130 GB, and FamLoad 1499 with a whopping 200GB data. Load are available at authorized PLDT, Sun, and Smart stores nationwide. One can also top up digitally via Grab Pay and PayMaya or go to the nearest sari-sari or convenience stores to load up.
As of writing, the Cat6 modem is available in GMM areas only and can be ordered via PLDT Home website. Limited stocks are available so it’s best to get your hands on one as early as possible.
