A pioneer in digital financial services, Paymaya, launched a campaign to empower the country’s younger generation. “Millenials Beyond the Selfie” is the new Paymaya campaign aimed to spark a deeper conversations and debunk myth around the youth.
Millenials Beyond the Selfie – not just a new PayMaya Campaign
As a market force, millenials are a growing power most notably in the digital economy. Around 35% of the Philippines’ population belong to the much talked about generational group. By the next decade, that means millenials will be the driving force of the socio-economic and cultural development in the country. Paymaya wants to help enable this segment of the population and in turn build a stable backbone for the future economy.
“Millennials are often labeled as entitled, shallow, and self-centered. But we know that this is not true. […] they are not afraid to take action and execute their aspiration no matter how niche or risky it may be in the eyes of others,” said PayMaya Philippines co-COO Benjie S. Fernandez.
“Towards this end, we are committed to continuing to empower #NowNation with the help of digital innovations, especially in the area of payments and other financial services,” he added.
PayMaya introduced a number of new brand ambassadors for this new campaign including The Phenom with a Purpose Alyssa Valdez, Expat Community Builder Louis Faure. There is also Philippine eSports Champions TNC Pro Team, and The Pinay Solo Backpacker Gael Hilotin, just to name a few. These incredible individuals serve as a great example to younger millennials. Also they help change the perspective about their generation.
Alyssa Valdez shared, “I am honored to be part of PayMaya’s newest campaign. I may be known for being an athlete but more than that, I am also involved in different business ventures, one being the co-owner of the restaurant ‘Ally’s All Day Breakfast’. This is an investment and preparation for my future. Apart from this, I also teach young individuals who want to develop a passion for volleyball through the Alyssa Valdez Skills Camp.”
