In September, OPPO Philippines launched its very first smartwatch, dubbed simply as the OPPO Watch. This new wearable from the smartphone brand offers a lot of features and good specs, including an AMOLED display and VOOC Flash Charge feature.
Available in all concept and online stores nationwide, as well as in Lazada, the OPPO Watch retails for P12,990. Let’s see this new OPPO device and what it has to offer in detail below.
Design & Construction
The OPPO Watch features a 41mm case with an aluminum frame and a fluoro rubber strap. On the right are two buttons–one (top) is to access Wear OS apps and the other (bottom) is for shortcuts. The bottom key also serves as the device’s power/reset/power saver button. The left side houses the loudspeaker and microphone. This watch has a 3D curved back design that keeps it looking good from various viewing angles. Overall it gives off a minimalist look that is easy to pair with any style.
The OPPO Watch also boasts up to 5-meter water resistance. Users need not worry about occasional splashes of water or accidentally submerging it in water. It is available in Black, Pink Gold, and Silver Mist colorways.
Display & Multimedia
Like OPPO smartphones, the OPPO Watch impresses with its 1.91-inch dual-curved flexible AMOLED screen. It provides crisp image quality and vivid colors with its 326ppi pixel density, 320 x 360 resolution, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. To make the display more personal, users can fill the background with a picture of their choice. The watch also features an intelligent out-fit-matching watch face. It uses AI-imaging and built-in algorithms to recommend a watch face that suits the user’s style.
Running Wear OS by Google, the OPPO Watch lets users maximize its specs through various nifty software features. The device also keeps users updated with smart info management tools, including message notifications, mobile payment, schedule management, check the weather, and quick reply.
Powered by Google Fit, this gadget can also track health and fitness. It offers 5-minute Workout class series and real-time guidance. Additionally, there’s the 24-hour heart rate monitor, sleep monitor, and exercise tracker. The HeyTap Health app generates a health report if the user wants to understand their own body and activities.
Performance
OPPO’s newest wearable comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 and Ambiq Micro Apollo3 Wireless SoCs. Additionally, it has four PPG sensors, GPS, and GLONASS to help track the movements of the user.
The OPPO Watch also comes with standalone LTE connectivity. Users don’t need to bring their phones along with them as this smartwatch has eSIM support for connectivity anywhere.
Powering this smartwatch is a 300mAh battery that promises up to 21 days of life in Power Saver mode. It lasts up to 36 hours when in Smart Mode. Moreover, this gizmo comes with VOOC Flash Charging feature. This enables 0% to 46% charging in just 15 minutes.
