OnePlus 5 is set to launch today at exactly 12 PM EDT, June 20 at the OnePlus website.
Earlier this month, OnePlus released a teaser of the OnePlus 5 which exposed the dual-lens rear camera feature of the newest OnePlus handset. Furthermore, based on previous leaks, OnePlus 5 is designed with curved sides, dual lens rear cameras, with antenna lines at the top and bottom edges, and a fingerprint sensor at the front. It is also confirmed to run on Snapdragon 835.
What’s more to love about this highly-anticipated handset is its camera. According to numerous sources, the OnePlus 5 will sport two rear sensors at the back – one main 16-megapixel Sony sensor with f/1.7 aperture and another 20-megapixel lens with f/2.6 aperture. OnePlus then claimed that OnePlus 5 will have “the highest resolution dual-camera system on a smartphone today.”
OnePlus5 Rumored Specs
Aside from its promising camera, numerous sources said that OnePlus 5 will come with a 5.5-inch full HD display that sports the same Optic AMOLED technology that we’ve already seen from OnePlus 3T. However, unlike its predecessor, OnePlus 5 will be smaller, thinner and lighter with antennas wrapped around its sides which appeared to be heavily inspired by the iPhone 7. The front will be all glass and the back panel will be made of metal.
The rumored processor of the handset will be Qualcomm’s latest processor, the Snapdragon 835. It is also rumored to come with 6 GB RAM and 8 GB RAM variant. The internal storage is expected to be around 64GB and/or 128GB. It is said that it will come with a ceramically coated fingerprint sensor.
In terms of battery, OnePlus 5 is rumored to come with a 3,000mAh battery with Dash Charge support.
Today, OnePlus will show the entirety of the device to the public which will confirm or repudiate the leaks and rumored specs. You may visit the OnePlus website to witness the launch of their new handset.
