What to expect?
Although OnePlus is known to release flagship killers, there are certain things you might want to consider before purchasing their new handset. Unlike other flagships like iPhone 7 and Galaxy S8, the OnePlus 5 does not support a wireless charging feature. OnePlus 5 also sacrificed the ability to expand storage. Furthermore, OnePlus did not confirm if the handset is IP68 certified. IP68 certification is an important aspect that tests a phone’s waterproofing and dust proofing capabilities. The iPhone 7 is IP67 while Galaxy S8 is IP68. Thus, we know that iPhone 7 and Galaxy S8 are fully protected from dust and can withstand water submersion up to 30 minutes, with the iPhone 7 able to withstand submersion up to 1 meter deep and the Galaxy S8 up to 1.5mts. In line with this, as of the new handset’s release we are yet to find to find out the protection it can offer.
