Nokia is back!
HMD Global announced this month their newest acquisition – the rights and license to the Nokia brand of phones. Thus, HMD Global unveils its launch of the Nokia 6, the latest in the famed Nokia phone line. It also marks HMD’s desire to once again make the Nokia brand the standard. In terms of manufacturing innovation, material quality, and design levels, HMD wants to make this classic brand, the new leader.
The Nokia 6 supposedly bases its design on the needs of users. This equates to a balance between quality and durability, as well as the ability to provide a reasonable price point.
Nokia 6 Smartphone Details
According to info provided by HMD Global, the Nokia 6 display has a bright hybrid in-cell 5.5-inch screen with full HD resolution. This would then be covered and protected in 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The display stack is laminated together with a polarizer layer enabling excellent sunlight readability and slim form.
For the internal specs, the Nokia 6 contains a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with X6 LTE modem. HMD Global sought out a processor designed for excellent battery life and superior graphics performance, and they got it. In addition, this CPU gets help from 4GB of RAM, the Android Nougat OS, and 64GB ROM.
For sound, HMD Global sought Dolby-branded sound, with the Atmos providing powerful audio for all users. The cameras, on the other hand, feature an 8-megapixel front camera, and a 16-megapixel rear camera. On top of that, the rear camera also has phase detection auto focus.
The Nokia 6 will be available exclusively in China through JD.com in early 2017. As of this writing, its current SRP is CNY 1,699 (around PHP 12,163). Will this old-school phone brand make its way back to the top?
