Aside from the Nokia X7, Nokia also announced recently another business-centric smartphone in the form of the E6 which uses the latest software update of Symbian, codenamed Anna.
The successor of the well-loved E71 and E72, the Nokia E6 will benefit from the latest Symbian update which features new icons and usability enhancements such as improved text input, a faster browser and refreshed Ovi Maps. I’m more excited with the improved browser performance which was poor in the first N8, E7, C7 and C6-01.
Not much has changed in the E6 from the design of the E72 save for the larger 2.46-inch screen that has a capacitive touchscreen display. Yup, aside from the QWERTY keypad and the optical trackpad, you can also navigate the phone using the touchscreen. Oh yeah, it has Gorilla Glass too and uses premium glass and stainless steel materials. The Nokia E6 also gets a bump in camera megapixel count from 5 to 8 but instead of an autofocus lens, this one has an EDoF fixed focus camera with dual-LED flash. Nokia also added some nifty features here like support for USB On-The-Go and AV-out for connecting to a television.
The Nokia E6 offers exceptional battery life and the best out-of-the-box Microsoft messaging experience on a business smartphone, including access to Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Communicator Mobile and Microsoft SharePoint.
Same with the X7, no word of exact date of availability of the E6 here in our country. They gave a vague Q2 2011 release date and the price is €340 (P21k) excluding taxes and subsidies. The Nokia E6 comes in black, white or silver color.
