2017 is the year Nokia made it’s return to the smartphone scene. Under HMD Global the brand once again hit the stage with a revamped version of the iconic 3310 alongside its introductory Android smartphones. To cement their return, Nokia just announced its first ever flagship, the Nokia 8. Featuring Dual-sight video mode, OZO audio, and cameras with ZEISS optics, the phone is packed with it’s own milestones.
The introduction of the Nokia 8 also sees the introduction of the world’s first smartphone with Dual-Sight video support. The feature allows users to use both cameras at the same time to take a photo, and livestream video in Facebook or YouTube. The Nokia 8 packs a 13MP dual image-fusion primary camera that has a color and monochrome sensor and a wide angle 13MP front camera with autofocus and phase detection, made even better by ZEISS optics for taking superb quality photos. The phone also features OZO audio technology, combining three microphones to capture 360° spatial surround sound, to complement its 4k video.
Designed from the ground up, the phone is slim. At the edge it is at 4.6 mm and the average thickness is just 7.3mm. The unibody of the Nokia 8 is made from a single block of 6000 series aluminum, and refined through a 40 stage process to come up with a well polished product.
Beyond the innovative features, the device has some outstanding hardware. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa Core processor and 4GB of RAM, making it the brand’s most powerful phone to date.
The Nokia 8 will be available starting September with an SRP of €599 or approximately Php 36,000. The Android Nougat smartphone will be available in four colours – Polished Blue, Polished Copper, Tempered Blue and Steel.
Nokia will also be launching a line of accessories including the lightweight, water, sweat, and dust proof premium Nokia Active Wireless Headset, portable speakers, in-car chargers, cases and screen protectors.
