Well that’s it for the Nokia 600, the would-be smartphone for the music lovers. When it was announced back in August along with the Nokia 700 and 701, we learned that it won’t be arriving to the Philippines. Well it turns out it won’t be arriving anywhere at all except for where Nokia brings their discontinued phones.
Among the three new Symbian Belle phones that was announced a couple of months back, the Nokia 600 was the most interesting one. It boasts of the loudest set of speakers, a built-in FM transmitter and also a built-in FM antenna so you don’t need your headphones to activate the FM radio.
It was supposed to be available in Q3 in selected markets but we didn’t see that happen so there’s no actual unit available anywhere. Nokia promptly removed the any reference of the product from their website including videos from their YouTube channel. There’s no explanation whatsoever from Nokia but they did confirmed that the Nokia 600 is no more.
So for those who are itching to get their hands on the Nokia 600 (I know at least of one guy), better hope that it will reincarnate as a Nokia Lumia phone in the future.
