iOS 11.3 Beta Release Hints at a new, ‘modern iPad’
Following the release of the first iOS 11.3 beta earlier this week, developers discovered hints at a new device. Apparently, Apple’s new software references a mysterious new ‘modern iPad’ with Face ID. Apple might have also left big hints on a possible release much later in 2018. Nonetheless, much remains to be seen.
Of course, since its introduction with the iPhone X, many have since expected the Face ID’s arrival on the iPad Pro sooner or later. In fact, before the iPhone X even launched, earlier iOS 11 builds already referenced it as a ‘modern iPhone.’ This seems to come from its Face ID feature, so it might be the same for the new iPad pro.
The new ‘modern iPad’ Pro might even arrive later this year, as several experts seem to agree. Previously, Apple introduced its new lineup of iPad Pros during the first half of the year. Thus, it might be likely for the company to make announcements in time for WWDC this summer. In fact, this announcement might even drop much earlier.
As much as it teases the product, the new iOS 11.3 beta hardly gives any potential features one might find on the rumored ‘modern iPad’ Pro. Many agree, however, that it may sport a new A11X processor, much slimmer bezels, and improvements in its cameras. It seems unlikely for the new iPad Pro to come with an OLED display, but the possibility of Face ID integration would more than make up for this.
