Well we don’t really know what happened here but to those waiting for the new iPad or the iPad 3 to hit local Apple Premium Resellers, exercise a bit more patience as Apple announced a new wave of countries where it will be landing. Unfortunately, Philippine is not included in the list.
On May 11, the new iPad will land in Latin America and a few other countries which include: Argentina, Aruba, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Costa Rica, Curaçao, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Kenya, Madagascar, Malta, Martinique,Mauritius, Morocco, Peru, Taiwan, Tunisia, and Vietnam.
Then on May 12, it will debut in the Middle East: Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates.
Sadly, Filipinos will have to rely on the grey market who can still command an above-normal price, or purchase from other countries to get their iPad 3. A reversal from what happened last year when Philippines got the iPad 2 just about two weeks after it was launched.
According to MacRumors, the new iPad appears to still be awaiting certification before it can be sold in the country, as well as China, Honduras, Indonesia, Nicaragua, and Paraguay.

The iPad 2 has somewhat dropped in price since the new Ipad was launched overseas, but it’s still not to where I would want to get one yet. Hopefully the new iPad gets here so iPad 2 prices can drop further, lol.
Damn you, Apple. And there should be a refurbished section on the PH Apple online store, too. Oh well.
Looks like customs / NTC wants some lagay?
Ahahahaha!
