NEO marked its 10th year in the business with launching the Omnipad tablets a couple of days ago. NEO achieved a new milestone of expanding to the mobile hardware market as it introduced two new models of the Omnipad ““ M71-3G and R72 units.
Omnipad M71-3G
The M71-3G is a 7-inch tablet that runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with 1.2GHz Dual Core processor and features the OmniBright display at 1024×768. The tablet offers standard Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity with front (0.3 MP) and back (2 MP) cameras. It has built-in 1 GB memory and 8 GB internal storage and expandable micro-SD slot (up to 32 GB). It also features a TV function to allow users to watch their favorite shows real-time. It can also acts as a GPS receiver for vehicle navigation. The value-added of the M71-3G is the dual-SIM registration supporting 3G, GSM-based cellular networks. This tablet retails at Php6,999.00.
Omnipad R72
Meanwhile, founder Jason Cheng said during the launch that there is a growing market for tablet users Philippines as it slowly becoming a necessity rather than a fancy gadget. For users who simply to like enjoy the basic tablet features, NEO released their entry level model, the 7-inch R72. It features a RK2926 Cortex A9 processor, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with 512 MB memory and 4 GB flash storage (may be also expanded up to 32 GB with the micro-SD slot) This multi-touch LCD screen with back and front cameras also supports Wi-FI connectivity and retails for only Php3,999.00.
Warranty and Support
NEO is continuously working on improving their products as well as their customer service. All Omnipad tablets come with a warranty merchandise arrangement with customers. To call their technical support team, dial 1-800-10-5311671 (outside of Metro Manila area) or 5311671 (for Greater Metro Manila area) and a Neo Technical Expert will identify and troubleshoot the problem. If the unit needs further troubleshooting or replacement, a pickup schedule will be agreed upon by the customer and Neo. Expect the delivery of the repaired/new unit within seven working days from date of pickup to your doorstep.
Although Sales and Marketing Director Derek Chua did not give anything concrete information on the next generation of the Omnipad, he assures that there will be models with larger screens and better specs.
