Another historic event marked last August 30 to September 1 as MSI Philippines held its gaming and PC festival at the SM North Edsa, producing titleholders and country representatives for a Southeast Asia regional tournament.
Beat It! Overdrive Reloaded, the event title that gathered hundreds of Pinoy gamers held various contests and tournaments that covered hit titles such as DOTA 2, Assault Fire, StarCraft 2, Dragon Nest, Avatar Star, Mercenary Online, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Together with sponsors Intel, Steel Series, Aero Cool, and Plextor, the 3-day event showcased top-notch products that allowed the participants to experience high-end performance games.
The event featured Fnatic DOTA 2 pro-gamers Trixi and H4nn1, allowing them to experience matches with their Pinoy counterparts. Also in the event were Mski.Biancake, MSI brand ambassador, and Donnalyn Bartolome.
MSI, together with Fnatic, hosts this year’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament with different Beat It! 2013 country and regional qualifiers. As the champion team from the CS:GO tournament, TNC Gaming will be sent to Shanghai, China to battle it out with their fellow Southeast Asian champions from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam for the Beat It! CS:GO final slot. The TNC Gaming CS:GO team is composed of the following members: JC Jamir aka Rbtx (team captain), James Carter Ang aka Retrac, Chris Martir aka Batang Pro, EJ Clores aka EJJJ, and Arvin Agbisit aka Nivra
When asked about the tournament and the recent victory they had in Beat It!, Rbtx said, "We experienced some difficulties at first. The fact that we were up against Team Smackdown, former Asian Cyber Games Champions, definitely brought added pressure, but we managed to beat them. This is our second title this year, after the Assault Fire master cup, and I feel so blessed. Our team will be representing Philippines in Shanghai, China on November 21, and will compete against the best of the best in Asia." When asked regarding his expectations in the upcoming Shanghai tournament, "I am expecting tougher matches as we will be competing against the best teams in Asia, but we will do our very best to win every game."
