Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac was recently launched. All attendees were given a copy and since I got the 2011 MacBook Air 11.6″ yesterday, I installed this Office to try it out!
Microsoft reps from Singapore presented the new version of Office for MAC. Coming from an Office environment on Windows, I don’t have an idea how the previous version for Mac looks like. However, the 2011 version has some interesting features that I like. One of which is the object layering in Powerpoint which will not be available in the Windows version.
MSI-ECS is the local distributor and according to them Microsoft Office: Mac 2011 will be available this week. Office:Mac 2011 is available in two flavors: Home & Business and Home and Student.

This edition provides the core productivity applications that Mac users want and need, including Word for Mac, PowerPoint for Mac, Excel for Mac and Messenger for Mac. It is available in two editions “” a single install and a Family Pack with three installs.

Those with the Home and Student customers can upgrade to Office for Mac Home and Business 2011using online upgrade if they want a desktop e-mail client.
