Microsoft is rumored to be currently in development of 4K webcams that will support Windows Hello, a security feature that allows you to sign in using biometric data like fingerprints and facial recognition. Though there are already existing Windows Hello webcams in the market today, the new 4K webcams will be the first standalone Windows Hello camera from Microsoft.
The camera will also be used for the Xbox One which will bring back the Kinect feature that many players missed since its discontinuation. This upcoming device might be connected to the cameras that will be released along with the Surface Hub 2. Since the new 4K webcams are enterprise-focused, it’s very likely that it might be the one for use with the Surface Hub 2, which features multiple USB Type-C ports.
