Today we witnessed the launch of two flagship smartphones from two different tech companies: first the HTC 10, and during the latter part of the day, the Meizu Pro 6 which is one of the first smartphones that runs on a deca-core processor from MediaTek called Helio X25.
Meizu has always done good in designing their handsets and choosing the right materials to make it stand out from its contemporaries. The company continues that tradition with the Pro 6 with its no-frill, all-metal chassis, and a redesign antenna line that runs on the back then tapers down to the side.
One peculiar aspect of the Meizu Pro 6 is its display. The size of the screen of Meizu’s new flagship has nominally shrunk compared to its precursor. However, what the Pro 6 lacks in size, it makes up for in other areas such as the addition of a feature called “3D Press” which works similarly to Apple’s 3D Touch.
Other notable features of the Pro 6 include a 21-megapixel rear camera with its accompanying 10-LED ring flash, mCharge 3.0 technology, and the Cirrus Logic CS43L36 audio chip which should theoretically boost the sound performance of the new flagship smartphone.
Of course, the true crowning glory of the Meizu Pro 6 lies inside it, the new MediaTek Helio X25 deca-core processor. It comprises of a high-octane Cortex A72 dual core processors clocked at 2.5GHz, a quartet of Cortex A53 processing cores running at 2.0GHz at top speed, and another set of power-efficient Cortex A53 quad-core processors configured to run at 1.4GHz max.
The Helio X25 inside the Pro 6 is backed by 4GB of RAM, and an overclocked Mali-T880 MP4 that can dish out 700Mhz when floored.
