At the New World Hotel in Makati City earlier, Manny “œThe Pacman” Pacquiao was introduced by Sony Philippines as its newest partner in bringing the 3D World experience closer to Filipinos.
We have to give it to Sony for choosing The People’s Champ to be its brand ambassador especially the Sony 3D TV. Congressman Manny couldn’t have said it better when asked what made him decide to partner with Sony, “œAs a world champion, I should also choose to endorse a champion brand”. In fact, Sony presented Pacquiao with a 52″ Bravia LX9 3D TV making him the first to own one in the country.
“œIt is our honor to welcome this great hero into the Sony family,” said Mr. Takao Kuroda, President and Managing Director, Sony Philippines. “œPacquiao is a man whose personal achievements have given his countrymen a shared experience of national glory. Being a true symbol of power and triumph make him the perfect ambassador in our campaign to bring the sensational experience of the Sony 3D World to the Philippines.”
Pacquiao is excited to be part of this project. “œI am very happy that Sony Philippines is investing in bringing their most advanced 3D products to the country,” he said. “œI am also happy that they have entrusted me to help Filipinos appreciate their 3D technology.”
Does this mean Manny’s upcoming November fight can also be viewed in 3D? Larry Secreto of Sony couldn’t give a definite answer but they want to make it happen. Sony was able to show highlights from the FIFA World Cup 2010 in 3D so they should be able to do so with boxing fights as well.
