This is it folks! Globe has finally posted something about the iPhone 4, that is updating their iPhone site to ask all of us iPhone fanboys to sign up to be the first to be notified once Globe has something concrete about the release of the iPhone 4 here in Manila. Signing up also means that you’d get first dibs on pre-ordering the iPhone 4 once Globe is ready.
Interestingly, the registration form also listed down the iPhone 4 white model as one of the preferred option. Of couse, if you’ve been following the release of the iPhone 4 in other countries, you’d know that this is close to impossible as not one single white iPhone 4 has been released in other countries so far. So, if I were you, don’t check that option as I doubt if Globe will have stocks of it later on.
Globe is also offering the iPhone 4 in both postpaid and prepaid options. If you want to have an idea on how much the prepaid kit will be priced, check out Yugatech’s estimate.
Another interesting point to note here is that, the Globe iPhone 4 FAQ also mentioned something about allowing current iPhone 3G/3GS subscribers to change their SIM to microSIM. Now, this is a good plan. I’m pretty sure current iPhone 3G/3GS subscribers would not want to get another postpaid plan and would rather use their old plan for their iPhone 4.
No words though on “upgrading” your current iPhone 3G/3GS plan to an iPhone 4 plan, similar to what AT&T is practicing in the U.S.
Anyway, for those of us who’ve been waiting for Globe to announce something about the iPhone 4, well this is it. And so, the iPhone 4 Manila frenzy has begun! Are you joining or are you skipping this one? You may want to register today if you’re interested.
