Despite the sheer number of smartphones that are being released in the market, smartphones with beefy battery pack are still a rarity to this date. As such, we decided to list down some of the newer smartphones with at least 4000mAh battery to help you narrow down your selection.
Editor’s note: The smartphones on this list are arranged chronologically, based on their local release dates. In order to accommodate more recent models, we’ve narrowed down our list to smartphones that were locally released during the second half of 2015 onwards.
Current lineup
OPPO R7 Plus (09/2015) – 4,100mAh
The usual tradeoff for having a high-capacity battery pack is design. However, such is not the case with the OPPO R7 Plus which boasts a premium metal chassis that houses a beefy 4,100mAh lithium-polymer battery, along with flagship-tier engine.
Launched here in the Philippines back in September of last year, the OPPO R7 Plus is currently priced at Php21,990.

ZUK Z1 (10/2015) – 4,100mAh
As the old adage go, first impression lasts. And what better way for a new company, such as the Lenovo sub-brand ZUK, to make a huge impression in a highly-competitive (and saturated) smartphone market than to release an aggressively priced handset with a feature set that would give its mid-range contemporaries a good run for its money.
In a nutshell, that’s what the ZUK Z1 is: a mid-range smartphone running on Qualcomm’s 2014 flagship processor with 3GB of RAM and sizeable 64GB on-board storage, albeit not expandable. Other notable features of the handset include USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor and Android Lollipop-based CynanogenMod 12.1 custom ROM that will surely put a smile on more advanced Android users.

Cloudfone Thrill 500x/500x+ (10/2015) – 4,000mAh
In the local smartphone scene, handsets with at least 4,000mAh battery pack are a little hard to come by. As such, consumers are limited to a handful of options to choose from, two of which are the Cloudfone Thrill 500x and it’s more spec’d out sibling, the Cloudfone Thrill 500x+.
Specs wise, these two Cloudfone smartphones are almost identical to one another with the exclusion of the on-board storage and RAM capacity which goes in favor of the Thrill 500x+. The added storage and RAM of the Thrill 500x+, however, demands a little bit more from the buyer’s wallet, Php1,000 more to be precise.
The Cloudfone Thrill 500x retails for Php5,999 while the Cloudfone Thrill 500x+ can be had for Php6,999.

Coming up with smartphones with a high-capacity battery isn’t new to Lenovo. In fact, the company has a set of smartphones, released under the P-series line, to cater specifically for users who prioritize long battery life above any other feature.
Unfortunately, the latest member of Lenovo’s P-series lineup, the Lenovo P90 didn’t reach our shore, not officially at least. But fret not as the company locally launched the Lenovo Vibe P1 which combines the large battery of the renowned P-series smartphones and the classy look of the Vibe lineup.

Asus ZenFone Max (01/2016) – 5,000mAh
Diversity is the name of the game. What started out as a set of competitively-priced smartphones, the Zenfone lineup now comprises of a variety of models that caters to different customer’s needs and budget.
One of the latest additions to the growing number of the Zenfone smartphones is the Asus Zenfone Max which made its way to the Philippines last month bearing a very tempting price tag of Php8,495.
The Zenfone Max inherited most of the features that made the Zenfone lineup popular among smartphone enthusiasts, such as support two SIM cards with LTE connectivity, decent display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, the company’s proprietary PixelMaster shooter. But what sets it apart from its sibling is its 5,000mAh battery pack which, when coupled with mid-range internals and 720p display, promises very respectable mileage per charge.

Gionee Marathon M5 (01/2016) – 6,020mAh
This handset is named Marathon for a good reason. It’s doesn’t have the fastest processor out there, nor does it have the most stylish design of most of its peers. But I doubt that it’s chic and speedy competitors can outlast the Gionee Marathon M5 in terms of battery life.
Instead of using a single high-capacity battery pack, Gionee decided to equip the Marathon M5 with (2) 3,010mAh battery packs which equates to a total capacity of 6,020mAh, the largest one in this list. The idea of having two battery packs in a single smartphone is rather absurd, but this unconventional approach is economical as it’s easier to parse 3,010mAh batteries than come up with a single 6,020mAh pack.
The Gionee Marathon M5 is made available locally by Cellprime Distribution Corporation which currently retails the handset for Php11,999.
