The LG Cinema 3D Smart TV (LM9600) was introduced early this year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) where it won the ‘CES Innovations Award’. It also garnered the “œBest of Show” and “œBest of CES ““ TV” awards for its groundbreaking design and 3D technology from CNET. It was a nice start for the TV which we also covered back in May.
Fast forward when the LM9600 became available in the market, it still continued to make waves. CNET Asia gave the LM9600 an Editor’s Choice award last April 2012, while Singapore’s “˜The Straits Times’ gave the unit the “˜Best Performance’ award and five stars after product review. In addition, one of the top tech magazines in Japan, HiVi, touted the LM9600 as a “˜Best Buy’ product in its recent July Issue.
The latest Cinema 3D Smart TV has an almost zero-bezel screen design that eliminates the distracting TV frame from view. The LM9600 continues to produce flicker-free 3D images with its award-winning and critically-acclaimed Film-Pattern Retarder technology. Further improvements are the new and improved battery-free 3D glasses that are lighter and more flexible, as well as the updated Magic Remote Control that comes with Voice Command for quick searches, the Wheel located at the center of the remote allowing swift and easy access to contents and feature, and the Pointing function that customers use to navigate thru the dashboard with ease.
As the Cinema 3D Smart TV relies on content, the new model has a cool feature called 2D to 3D conversion feature that allows users to convert non-3D material to 3D. Customers can also control how much 3D they require with LG’s more flexible 2D to 3D Depth Control and View Point Control.
More 3D and local content is also available in the home dashboard with LG’s latest “˜3D World’ app and added local contents such as ABS-CBN’s iWanTV, ABS-CBNNews.com, Yahoo PH, Inquirer.net, and PhilStar.com. Even K-Pop content is covered with LG’s latest K-POP Zone, an app that features Korean Pop music concerts. Gamers will also love the new Cinema 3D Smart TV, as multiple players can use the latest Dual Play feature to get more players in the game and compete in one screen.
