LG quietly makes a big splash with their LG Optimus P500 Android 2.2 smartphone as it sets to land with a 50% discount off its Php12,990 price tag. Yup, this Froyo smartphone will go for Php6,495 once it becomes available on Nov. 13.
With this move, LG will have the cheapest Android phone around. But only for a limited time only that is. On Nov. 13 at LG concept stores in SM Megamall, SM North EDSA Annex, SM Cebu, and Gaisano Davao, there will be a 1-hour window, from 2PM to 3PM where you can get the LG Optimus P500 at the discounted price.
This is not LG’s first Android phone in the market. They released their Optimus One GT450 back in July but that runs on the outdated Android 1.6 (Donut) and has a resistive touchscreen making this new Optimus One P500 a delight to Android fans.
