We’ve reported recently that LG is gearing up to unveil its newest flagship smartphone. But the South Korean company thought that it’ll be a good idea to warm things up a little bit before the LG G5 launch by announcing two of the first Specialist-series smartphones, namely the LG X Cam and LG X Screen.
These new LG smartphones gain “Specialist” moniker because it caters to a specific group of consumers, primarily those who want a particular feature of a high-end smartphone but aren’t willing to shell out a pretty penny for a flagship device.
The X Cam and X Screen are equipped with a certain feature that one wouldn’t typically find in a midrange smartphone. The former has a dual-camera setup with 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear shooters both mounted at the back. Meanwhile, the latter takes the page out of the LG V10’s playbook with its 1.76-inch secondary display with Always-On feature and can display notifications, battery life, and other stuff.
As different as these smartphones are in terms of its features and the type of consumers it aims to cater to, both of these X-series smartphones actually share the same internals comprising of a quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, expandable 16GB on-board storage, and support for LTE connectivity. Both handsets also come pre-installed with Android Marshmallow.
