As 4K and HDR become commonplace in te market, LG Display goes the extra mile by pushing their OLED technology to its limits, at 8K OLED.
The Korean manufacturer looks to debut their new 88-inch 8K OLED display at CES 2018, which will stand as the largest and highest-resolution OLED panel to date. However, in terms of specs needed to project and display at that resolution, things seem up in the air.
Notably, before this upcoming launch, the largest OLED screen size measured at 77-inches, at 4k. In fact, this combo exists in products offered by LG, Sony, and Panasonic. With Samsung Display changing priorities, LG Display stands as the only large-size OLED display maker in the world. However, other companies might cut into the market by ramping up their production capacity, and pushing mobile OLED.
