Earlier today, we got a sneak preview of Lenovo’s upcoming dual-SIM Android phone. Lenovo Mobile upped the ante on the screen size of dual-SIM phones with the 5-inch Lenovo S880. Yes, if you think their 4-inch Lenovo P700 can satiate your screen size cravings, you can get more out of the S880.
The Lenovo S880 is currently Lenovo Mobile’s flagship model which is positioned to be a mid0range dual-SIM phone and a multimedia device rolled into one. It is equipped with Lenovo Sound technology to power its dual speakers (top and bottom) for decent volume levels without distorting the sound.
The 5-inch screen only gives you an 800×480 WVGA resolution so don’t expect ultra-sharp icons like what you see from big high-end phones in the market. It does run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a few Lenovo UI customizations.
Powering the S880 is a single-core 1GHz processor along with 512 MB RAM. Internal storage is limited to 4GB but there’s the microSD option for additional space. The S880 has a 5-megapixel camera and a VGA front camera as well. Sadly, no flash for the camera.
One thing you don’t have to worry too much with this phone is battery life. The S880 boasts of a 2250mAh battery which is shorter than their P700’s 2500mAh but still above average for single-core phones.
We were told that the Lenovo S880 will be available in the market mid-September with a price of Php14,999. It will come in either black which has a textured back or white and its glossy back. It may not wow you with its specs but if you’re looking for a big dual-SIM phone without spending a lot, the S880 should be on your list.
