There’s not a lot of 12-inch laptops around but if you find the 13-inch laptop still a bit big (I do) and the 11-inch still small then maybe the perfect size for you would be a 12-incher.
Lenovo Philippines recently introduced their IdeaPad U260 which is from their ultra-portable line that comes with a very unique display size of 12.5-inch and could be just the right size for some people.
Foregoing the smooth tapered edges found in a lot of laptops these days, the Lenovo IdeaPad U260 looks boxy yet still elegant and has a premium-feel to it. It has a one-piece magnesium-alloy frame to make it strong while at the same time maintaining its thin and light form.
The IdeaPad U260 comes with an Intel Core i3 ULV processor for a very decent performance without consuming a lot of power. It can be configured with up to 320GB of hard drive storage and up to 4GB of DDR3 memory. It also has a Dolby Advanced Audio surround sound speakers, HDMI output and an integrated web camera.
Additional features include what Lenovo calls Breathable Keyboard, an Intel Advanced Cooling Technology that allows the PC to run cooler and maintain spill resistance. Ambient Light Sensors on the U260 help protect users’ eyes by automatically adjusting screen brightness based on lighting conditions and Lenovo’s Active Protection System acts as an “œairbag” for the hard drive to cushion data stored on the laptop in the event of a fall or drop.
“œThe IdeaPad U260 is a luxury laptop for someone with discerning tastes that desires high quality and elegance paired with the freedom of immense mobility,” said Michael Ngan, country manager for Home and Small-Medium Business, Lenovo Philippines.
The Lenovo IdeaPad U260 laptop will be available by January 2011 onwards through Lenovo Exclusive Stores and authorized retail stores nationwide at a suggested retail price that starts at PhP44,900.
