Lazada is currently one of, if not the largest, online selling platforms in the country and the whole of Southeast Asia. As the year nears its conclusion, the company launches their 11.11 Shopping Festival which will be the biggest one-day shopping and selling event in the region, allowing sellers to score incredible deals on 11,111 brands and products. During a press event at Green Sun Hotel in Makati, the online platform made a pledge to support over eight million eCommerce Entrepreneurs and SMEs by 2030.
Over the years, Lazada has created a sustainable eCommerce ecosystem where both sellers and shoppers can thrive in. To continue developing this market, the platform will assist SMEs in digitizing their businesses to gain better access to a wider pool of consumers, which will level the playing field for entrepreneurs.
Yesterday’s event also included a discussion panel featuring: Lazada Philippines CEO, Ray Alimurung; Global Chief Economist and Managing Director of Economic Intelligence Unit, Simon Baptist; DTI eCommerce Head, Director Ma. Lourdes Yaptinchay; L’Oreal’s Country Managing Director, Thibault de Saint Victor and UNICEF Special Advocate, Daphne Osena-Paez with beauty queen Laura Lehmann hosting the show.
Among the topics discussed in the panel is how eCommerce has helped overcome trade challenges faced by small to medium business especially in Southeast Asia. There was also talk of how, through the use of online platforms such as Lazada, consumers will now be able to donate to charities easily and receive rewards in return.
The Lazada Shopping Festival will commence this Sunday, November 11. Shoppers can also collect vouchers to receive better offers through interactive games like “Wonderland”, “SlashIt” and “ShakeIt” which can be found within the Lazada App.
