Apple’s smartwatch, the Apple Watch is a revolutionary device as it is the most functional of its kind in the market today. As long as it is connected to an iPhone, you can play music, get directions among other things. However, that can be cumbersome as you basically still have to carry two smart devices for the convenience of the watch. In a piece from Bloomberg it looks like Apple is going to address that issue with its smartwatch.
According to the piece, Apple will be releasing an LTE capable Apple Watch. This means that it will be more independent from the iPhone. This can be a big deal as it moves toward more convenience. The LTE connectivity won’t necessarily make the watch independent of the phone however. The idea is to equip the watch with enough for basic phone functionality like calling.
Apple has tried to come out with an LTE capable watch before, but moved it due to battery concerns. With Apple unveiling the Apple Watch 2 along with the iPhone 7 the same period last year, speculations have been circulating that we can expect the upcoming Apple Watch this quarter. Apple usually unveils new products in September or October so we can expect to see their anticipated devices soon.
