IP e-Game Ventures Inc. finally released one of the hottest online FPS game today after undergoing a duration of closed beta testing. Point Blank is the top online game Thailand, Indonesia as well as Russia and e-Games just unveiled the commercial version to its valued i-Cafe partners and card distributors.
Point Blank is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online first person shooting (MMOFPS) game developed by Zepetto of Korea and is among the top online game worldwide. Since May, the game attracted a million unique users thanks to a series of marketing strategies made by IP e-Games. You might event see the commercial shown on GMA.
MMOFPS is like an FPS game with an MMO twist. At first glance Point Blank is like any other FPS games feature a counter-terrorist and terrorist team. The MMO twist is that you choose a class for your character. You can choose the basic class, assault, sniper or an assailant. You also gain experience in the game to level up and learn skills that would make your character more flexible and be able to wield better weapons.
To get better weapons, you need to buy them from shops and that’s where you need to spend your Points, which is the in-game currency you earn for winning matches, levelling up, or buy buying top-up cards. You gain access to superior guns but these are temporary weapons and have what they call a Weapon count which you can only use for a number of matches.
The game also features a variety of game modes aside from the usual Death Match, Annihilation, and Demolition. There’s even a Destroy game mode in the commercial release which involves helicopter missions and you need to take down the opposing flying vehicle to win.
Miguel Bauza, Vice President for Marketing at IP e-Games said that there will be a grand launch for Point Blank in August, more online tournaments, in-game contests, and SNS initiatives for the rest of the year.
