One of the reasons why digital frames don’t really sell much is that either people are not proud of the photos they took, or they’re just lazy to transfer photos into the frame.
The Kickstarter crowd-funded Instacube is going to revolutionize the digital frame by having a live canvas for your Instagram. This digital frame lets you enjoy your own Instagram photos as well as photos of those you follow, without you having to do anything aside from logging in.
The Instacube has a 6.5-inch LCD touchscreen to showcase Instagram photos in their full 600 x 600 resolution. It has a built-in WiFi so you can log in to your Instagram account and let the beautiful square-shaped treated photos stream into its display.
It comes with three physical buttons. One for power, another for tile view so you can toggle between your feeds and another one made specifically for liking a photo. It also has a rechargeable lithium battery so you can make it completely wireless.
The creator, D2M | Design to Matter, just launched Instacube for funding via Kickstarter. There’s a limited special offer where you can get one for just $99 (255 left as of this writing) and afterwards, the cost for an Instacube will be $149 with expected availability date of March 2013.
It’s a cool product which I’m sure will reach its funding really soon. Let’s just hope they can stick to the schedule. If you’re a true Instagram fan, you might want to check out the Intagram SocialMatic Camera as well.
