The first-ever ICT roadshow for Filipino farmers begins on March 26 in San Fernando, La Union.
Buses equipped with notebook computers will roam the countryside and park at designated stopovers to train farmers and extension workers on using agricultural information made available on the internet by the Pinoy Farmers Internet, and introduce them to various ICT-enabled services by the Open Academy for Philippine Agriculture.
The Pinoy Farmers ICT Roadshow will feature cyber-clinics (videoconferencing with field experts across multiple sites), training on computer and internet basics, the use of computer-based farm diagnostic software, and SMS for farming tips.
The Pinoy Farmers Internet will also be featuring day-to-day updates of the roadshow in its blog.
