According to leading IT market research and advisory firm, IDC, IBM was ranked the number one server vendor in the Philippines in terms of overall server revenue market share in Q4 2012. They account for for 38.7% revenue market share in the last quarter of last year.
They are ranked number one in the following server segments in the Philippines:
- X86 server market with 38.6 percent revenue share
- High-end Enterprise ($250k+) server market with 80.7 percent revenue share
- RISC and EPIC server market with 38.9 percent revenue share
“œIBM continues its focus on Smarter Computing systems that support an agile, smarter enterprise that can unlock the value of data, improve data center efficiency, and simplify an organization’s IT experience. This was particularly the case in the local market, wherein many clients have embraced the Smarter Computing approach, resulting to an increased demand for cloud, data and security ready enterprise systems that only IBM can deliver,” said Ireen Catane, Country Executive for Systems and Technology Group, IBM Philippines.
Among the local companies last year that took advantage of IBM’s Smarter Computing approach to IT include Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) and The PR Savings Bank.
The company also led the ASEAN server market with 38 percent revenue share in Q4 2012.
