Design & Construction
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 greets you first with its bold, beautiful colors of either Midnight Black, Emerald Green, or Sapphire Blue. The rear flaunts a glass-like finish that belies its plastic construction. Catching your eye at the back id the triple rear camera setup, arranged vertically on the upper left corner with the flash situated right below. The circular fingerprint scanner sits at the center, easily accessible by the index finger for fast unlocking.
Then it draws you in with its unmistakable premium looks courtesy of the almost full screen display with no notch and minimal bezels. The buttons–power keys and volume rocker–sit on the right side; the pop-up front camera elevates from the top of the phone when prompted. The dual SIM tray–one is a hybrid slot that can alternatively accommodate a microSD card–is also placed on top. At the bottom are the speakers, USB-C port, and the headphone jack.
Overall, the Y9 Prime 2019 measures 163.5mm in height, 77.3mm in width, and 8.8mm in thickness. It weighs 196.8g, which gives it a solid, hefty feel.

The uninterrupted 6.59-inch LTPS display comes with no notch, ensuring a true all-screen viewing experience. The display also boasts a FHD+ (2340 x 1080) resolution with 391ppi pixel density for more detailed and clearer images. There’s a bottom-firing speaker to complement the display.

Can we ever forget about your photography needs? The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 features a triple rear camera setup. The system at the back is made up of a 16MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP camera for depth. Of course, one of the key features in this device is the 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera with fast focus capability.
Performance
Power and performance rely on the 2.2GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor, Mali-G51 MP4 GPU, and 4GB RAM. For your files, videos, and photos, the 64GB or 128GB built-in storage should be enough. But if you want to expand it further, you can pop in a microSD card for more memory space.
