After its official launch in China, the Huawei Nova 4 goes in with a bang because of its incredible camera setup that features a triple rear camera with a whopping 48MP main lens. Today we’re gonna give you a rundown of all its key features to see what the fuss is all about. Let’s start!
Design & Construction
It’s pretty evident that the Nova 4 seems to have been designed for a younger market as it showcases a back panel adorned in bright jewel-like gradients. Aside from just black and white color variants, the Nova 4 also comes in Aurora Red and Blue. It’s not too light nor too heavy at 172g and fits right in your pocket with its dimensions at 157 x 75.1 x 7.8 mm. Its triple rear camera setup is quite uncanny as well and looks like a small exclamation point.
Display
The Nova 4 has a huge 6.4-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2310 px and a pixel density of 398ppi. But its most notable feature is its unique placement of the front camera. Instead of the usual notches common in 2018 phones, the Nova 4 debuts a “punch hole” front camera which sits within the borders of the display. This allows the device to maximize the total screen area.
Camera
One of the things you least expect from Huawei is to drop a phone with a 48-megapixel camera. At the back is a 48MP + 16MP + 2MP setup and at the front is a lone 25MP camera. Though picture quality isn’t only reliant in the size of its megapixels, it’s fair to assume that this phone can capture great images. We can only be sure once we get to fully review it and put it through several tests.
Performance
It makes sense that Huawei will pack this phone with a high-end processor, and thus the Nova 4 is powered by a Kirin 970 chipset coupled with a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. There’s no word yet if it will have support for GPU turbo, but with a processor like that, I can say that the Nova 4 can handle heavy gaming especially that it’s also built with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Though we’re not sure yet if it will have face unlock, it seems that the Nova 4 already has an added security feature with its rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It also has an above-average battery capacity of 3,750mAh that can probably last more than a whole day depending on use.
