HONOR CEO George Zhao discussed the company’s commitment to popularizing foldable smartphones during the keynote event “Unfold Tomorrow” at IFA 2023, which also featured the introduction of their foldable phone – The HONOR Magic V2, and a fashion-forward purse, The HONOR V Purse.
The HONOR V Purse is a “Phone-to-purse” concept that signals the start of electronic devices being viewed as a new category of fashionable consumer items that provide limitless potential for self-expression.
HONOR also partnered with leading cultural tastemakers from across its HONOR Talents Global Design Awards platform, involving creative Bram Van Diepen, a director from BURBERRY Menswear; Yunuene Esparza, a contemporary artist; Combining artist Xiao Hui Wang and professor Yuan Youmin of the China Academy of Art, to design a number of unique AODs for the device.
On the other hand, HONOR Magic V2 is the thinnest and lightest inward foldable smartphone that HONOR has yet to release, measuring just 9.9mm thick when folded and weighing only 231g. It is built with a new generation of Silicon-Carbon-Dual Battery that delivers a high capacity of up to 5000mAh.
Magic V2 also possesses Super-light Titanium Hinge and new HONOR’s proprietary steel, which provide the hinge mechanism more sturdiness and longevity.
In terms of photo capturing, HONOR Magic V2 is designed with a triple rear camera setup that features a 50MP Main Camera, a 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera,and a 20MP Telephoto Camera. Its front-facing dual camera is also built with two 16MP Cameras.
During the IFA 2023, HONOR wins 36 prizes in total, with this, Android Headlines named the HONOR V Purse as the “Best of IFA 2023”. They also said that “The HONOR V Purse is not only a phone, it’s also a fashion statement, and a conversation starter. It was easily one of the more interesting announcements we’ve seen at IFA 2023.”
