Meet GoPro’s new action cameras — the Hero 8 Black and the Max. Both action cameras sport new features, touting to redefine what’s possible with a camera.
GoPro Hero 8 Black
The Hero 8 Black is now redesigned with frameless mounting and built-in folding mounting fingers. GoPro claims that the new action camera is more pocketable and 14% lighter compared to the Hero 7 Black. The frameless design also?makes changing batteries and SD cards even faster. The lens is now twice more resistant to impacts.
Performance-wise, it aims to perform better in motion scenes with its HyperSmooth 2.0 technology. It touts an unprecedented level of increased stabilization compared to the first HyperSmooth and works on all frames and resolutions. There’s also a new Boost Mode and improved horizontal leveling. An improved TimeWarp 2.0 automatically adjusts speed based on motion, scene detection and lighting.

GoPro Hero 8 Black Mods
There are also new accessories to complement the new Hero 8 Black experience:
Media Mod: The Media Mod delivers shotgun-mic directional audio performance and features two cold shoe mounts for additional accessories along with Type-C, HDMI and 3.5mm external mic adapter ports.
Display Mod: The Display Mod is a folding front- or rear-facing 1.90-inch display accessory that attaches to the top of the Media Mod.
Light Mod: The Light Mod is rechargeable, waterproof up to 33 feet, wearable, and gear-mountable. It comes complete with a diffuser to soften lighting when filming with HERO8 Black.
GoPro MAX
If one camera isn’t enough, how about three? The new GoPro Max just has that. It features three cameras that aim to showcase 360-degree motion lapses and better motion lapses.
With that, one can effortlessly switch to HERO mode or a 360-degree Max mode through changing capture modes. Additionally, there are 4 digital lenses make selecting a field of view easy including Max Superview wide-angle mode.

The GoPro Hero 8 Black and MAX will be available starting this November in the Philippines for Php 23,990 and Php 29,490, respectively. Pre-orders for the Hero 8 Black will start on October 18 and will come with bonus peripherals (foldable bag or Casey) until stocks last. The GoPro Hero 8 Black Mods, on the other hand, will be available starting December at gopro.com with prices yet to be announced.
