The new update for the Google Wear OS will make smartwatches stay efficient for longer periods of time. The H update for the Wear OS includes an improved battery saver mode, better off body efficiency, smart app resume for all applications, and a new simpler power off method.
With the new Google Wear OS, the battery saver mode automatically becomes activated when the battery of the device reaches 10% and only the time will be displayed. When users take their watches off, the device would also save its battery. The smartwatch would go into a deep sleep mode when 30 minutes of inactivity is detected.
The Android 9.0 Pie update also makes turning the smartwatch off easy. To do this, the user will only have to long press the power button to prompt the ‘power off’ option. Before, the smartwatch can only be powered off after going through its settings.
Lastly, the Smart App Resume feature allows users to go back to any Google Wear application without losing their process. This is a great improvement since the last version does not allow for applications to retain their state after closing.
