Google Home:  It Does Everything

A device that does almost everything.  It’s a concept from sci-fi books, but Made by Google is might make it real. The Home is part-audio streamer, part-alarm clock, part-Google search device, and part-hub for all of your gadgets.

In terms of audio streaming, the Google Home is essentially a home speaker that takesvoice commands.  Through simple voice requests, the Home can play music, podcasts, or radio from various streaming services.  As far as the official Home webpage goes, potential owners can have voice access to Google Play Music, Spotify, Youtube Music, Pandora, and TuneIn.

For those who lead busy lives, the Home also acts as a personal planner and portal to Google search.  Basically, this means you can ask the Home anything and it’ll use a search function to give you the right answer.  On top of that, it will also help users set alarms, timers, and itineraries by downloading data like traffic updates or flight information. It’s essentially your digital assistant.

Other features include a customizable base, Hi-Fi speaker, far-away voice recognition, multi-room capability, and touch controls.

Daydream:  Google’s Take on the VR Phenomenon

Virtual reality is quickly taking over the tech market. Google capitalizes on this boom with the Daydream View, a Pixel-compatible VR headset.  The Daydream also comes with a simple yet intuitive controller, guaranteeing full control over any VR game. Finally, this particular headset is built out of comfortable, breathable fabric. This means that even with long hours of use, the Daydream isn’t going to strain anyone’s face.

No preorders are up at the moment for the Google Daydream View, but the company is currently offering the opportunity to join the current waitlist.

Google WiFi: the Internet, but Better

As internet connections and WiFi are now staples of any modern society, Google has done its part to keep everyone effortlessly plugged-in  The Google WiFi promises top speeds across the entire household, kicking the traditional router out of the game. Each Google WiFi device is compatible with the Google WiFi app which lets users control the network.  It’s a much more efficient mode of managing your internet. There’s also the Family WiFi pause, which lets parents monitor and control when their children can access the internet.

Chromecast: Crisp 4K UHD Streams

This upcoming product promises to deliver 4K UHD and HDR streaming.  It’s current price stands at USD 69. Currently, Chromecast offers three different kinds of streaming.  Users have the freedom to pick between audio streaming, TV streaming, or premium TV streaming. As stated on the Made by Google website, the Chromecast will be “coming soon”.

These exciting new products will surely rock the tech market, but for now we’ll have to wait until they reach our shores.  For more info, be sure to check out the Made by Google website.
